Privacy Policy

This is run by one person in Melbourne who genuinely doesn't care about your specific data beyond making the game work, having some fun, and maybe finding some cute patterns. But as the app has grown, it's worth being clear about what we actually collect and why.
What we collect
Account & profile
Your email address, display name, and anything you choose to fill in on your profile — country of origin, national team, club supported, age group. All optional except the email.
Your predictions
Every score you predict and every point you earn. That's kind of the whole point.
Your approximate location (city)
When you first use the app, we capture the city you're in from your IP address (via Vercel, our hosting provider). This is stored on your profile and used for the admin usage dashboard. It's city-level only — we can't see your street or neighbourhood.
Login & session activity
We log when you sign in, what kind of device you're on (mobile, tablet, or desktop), where you came from (e.g. a Google search, direct link, or a shared URL), and which page you landed on. This helps us understand how people find and use the app.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to track page views, sessions, and general usage patterns. It collects anonymised data about how people navigate the app. You can opt out using a browser extension or by disabling analytics cookies.
Push notification subscriptions
If you enable push notifications, your browser's subscription token is stored so we can send you match reminders. You can turn this off in your profile or your browser settings anytime.
What we do with it
Run the game. Send you prediction reminders before matches if you've opted in. Understand how people use the app so we can make it better.
We look at aggregate patterns — things like which countries predict the most accurately, or how many people are using mobile vs desktop. Nothing that singles you out.
Services we use
Supabase — our database and authentication provider. Your account and all your data live here.
Vercel — hosts the app and provides city-level location from your IP address.
Resend — handles any emails we send you (prediction reminders, account confirmation). They don't get your data for anything else.
Google Analytics — anonymised usage tracking. Subject to Google's own privacy policy.
What we absolutely don't do
Sell your data. We wouldn't know who to sell it to and honestly can't be bothered.
Spam you. If you're getting emails from us, it's because you asked for them. You can turn them off in your profile.
Share your personal information beyond the services listed above, and only to the extent needed to run the app.
Your rights
You can update or delete your profile information at any time. If you want your account fully removed, email us and we'll sort it out. Your personal details go; your historical predictions stay anonymised, because history is history.
You can turn off email reminders and push notifications in your profile settings without deleting your account.
The technical bits
We use cookies to keep you logged in. Your browser can clear them anytime — you'll just need to sign in again.
We try to keep things secure but nothing's bulletproof. Use a decent password. Don't use the same one you use for your bank, your email, and that forum you joined in 2009.
Updates
This might change. We'll update the date at the top when it does, and flag anything significant in the app.
